Contract 2024 came with annual pay rate increases of 3% each year on the date of ratification – May 1 through 2027. This means that yesterday, May 1, 2025, we all received an automatic 3% pay raise applied to all TFP associated with May’s schedule. This pay rate increase will be reflected in our June 20, 2025, paycheck. Today, on International Workers’ Day, we celebrate the one-year anniversary of our Contract ratification, where more than 21,000 Southwest Airlines Flight Attendants overwhelmingly ratified the Pink Contract valued at $6.3 billion over the four-year agreement.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month. The TWU Local 556 CISM team is one Committee that is available to support you through life’s challenges. Mental Health Awareness month helps those with a condition overcome the stigma and get access to professional help.
On Wednesday, April 30, 2025, TWU Local 556 2nd Vice President Ray Presnall announced his resignation, effective immediately.
I believe it’s important to begin with the most significant change in our Local. Our former President, Bill Bernal, has resigned, and our First Vice President, Kristina Peterson, has taken on the role of President. Sam Wilkins has stepped into the position of First Vice President. Additionally, our former Treasurer, John Parrott, has resigned, and Nancy Kallas has accepted the role. It is fitting that these changes took place during Women’s History Month. All three women have eagerly and enthusiastically embraced their new positions.
