REAL ID, What You Need To Know

After the attacks on September 11, 2001, the United States Congress began developing standards for state-issued driver’s licenses and identification (ID) cards to enhance security and prevent identity fraud. In 2005, the REAL ID Act was passed. This federal law mandates that state-issued ID cards meet specific requirements to be accepted for accessing secure facilities and boarding commercial flights. Through the years, the program has been delayed due to some states taking longer to implement the changes.

ESCP Now in Effect

Southwest Airlines Management has notified our Union President Peterson that Emergency Sick Call Procedures (ESCP) would go into effect today, Sunday, March 16, 2025, at 1500 Central Time until further notice.

LDLP and LRO in Detail

Earlier this week, the Southwest Airlines Implementation Team deployed the last automated pay elements in accordance with Contract 2024. Effective March 8, 2025, Late Return Override (LRO) and Last Day Late Premium (LDLP) will no longer be added to your compensation through a manual audit. While it took a little longer to automate these two premiums, we are excited to finally have our new contractual premiums, which are paid above RIGs, applied to our pay as intended.
