Earlier this week, the Southwest Airlines Implementation Team deployed the last automated pay elements in accordance with Contract 2024. Effective March 8, 2025, Late Return Override (LRO) and Last Day Late Premium (LDLP) will no longer be added to your compensation through a manual audit. While it took a little longer to automate these two premiums, we are excited to finally have our new contractual premiums, which are paid above RIGs, applied to our pay as intended.
I hope March is going well for you, and I am glad spring is around the corner. I don’t know about you, but when it is summer, I always wish for cooler weather rather than 120 degrees daily, and then when winter comes around, I wish for warmer weather. Either way, I’m thankful I live in a climate where I don’t have to shovel snow or be out in -7 degrees weather in the winter. There is a lot to unpack in this E-Connection that I hope you will find useful.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
As we round out the first quarter of 2025, I have a few updates and changes to share with you.
Contract 2024 included multiple new pay components to protect our time on duty, especially during IROPs. Initially, these pay components were a manual process for Inflight Payroll Audit. Over the past 10 months, SWA Inflight Technology has focused on moving from a manual process to automating these pay components. As of this week, the final two pay components, Last Day Late Premium (LDLP) and Late Return Override (LRO) have been automated. Let’s take a look at what this means for us and what to look for on our Payroll Reports.
