The Divine Nine: A Legacy of Leadership & Resilience
February is nationally recognized as Black History Month—a time to honor African Americans’ profound contributions and achievements throughout United States history. It is a month to reflect, learn, and celebrate the resilience and impact of leaders such as civil rights activist and Labor leader A. Philip Randolph and educators W.E.B. Du Bois and Mary McLeod Bethune, whose efforts paved the way for progress and equality. This month and every month, we honor Dr. Carter G. Woodson, “The Father of Black History,” an educator and historian who dedicated his life to researching, promoting, and preserving African American history.
