Your TWU Local 556 Satellite Base Committee Chairpersons Lisa Trafton, along with Satin Fye, and Allison Quiñones, Negotiators Liz Howayeck, 1st Vice President Sam Wilkins, and Atlanta Domicile Executive Board Member Alison Head, met with Southwest Airlines Crew Planning and Lead Negotiator to discuss the terms of the Satellite Base Closure. Part of our discussion was around the vacancy process for Satellite-Based Flight Attendants.

On May 1, 2024, our Union ratified a new Contract that delivered an immediate 22.325% raise. That moment was historic, but it wasn’t the finish line. May 1, 2025, marks the first of several annual 3% raises we won through that agreement. These raises are more than numbers. They reflect our strength at the bargaining table, our persistence in the face of delay, and our belief that TWU Local 556 Members are the best Flight Attendants in the industry.
Today, we received notice of an evacuation of a Southwest Airlines plane at William P. Hobby Airport in Houston after returning to the airport due to a reported engine issue. We are happy to report that the Crew and Passengers are safe.
