Today, Southwest Airlines announced that it is conducting a lay-off tomorrow, February 18, 2025. While we understand any reduction in workforce creates uncertainty for all, please know that no Flight Attendant positions are affected by this lay-off.
The Union is aware of the excessive gate checks, audits, and uniform compliance checks. We want to make it clear that although the Company has the right to “manage,” we find it unacceptable that the frequency and blatant disregard for our work group is being targeted. With that being said, we encourage you to take the following measures. In addition to filling out a LINK form on your IEFB, the Union would like to gather as much data as possible. In multiple negotiation sessions throughout the week of May 30, the Negotiating Committee met and bargained with Southwest Airlines Labor Relations and Southwest Airlines Management in the presence of mediators from the National Mediation Board.
